receive_ns and transmit_ns are the responder’s clock at receipt of the ping and at transmission of the result, stamped as close to the transport as the runtime permits. The initiator records its own clock at receipt as destination_ns and derives rtt_ns = (destination_ns − origin_ns) − (transmit_ns − receive_ns) and offset_ns = ((receive_ns − origin_ns) + (transmit_ns − destination_ns)) / 2; the agent keeps the minimum-RTT sample of its last eight exchanges as its estimate (AWP-CLK-008). Cadence and loss detection follow AWP-SAF-001/002.
